Comparing and contrasting Don MCullin and Andy Warhol

Although Mcullin and warhols work in the 60’s differs greatly in subject, they were both influenced by society around them. Warhol was influenced by and embraced popular culture and commercial processes to produce work that appealed to the general public. he was also heavily influenced by Catholicism, especially the iconography of the church, which can be seen in his versions of leonado da vinci’s last supper.

MCullins work in the 60’s however was very different. His work was an insight to something the general public couldn’t see, the true effects of war. his photographs were not taken to appeal to the public but to shock them.
